Food & Beverage

The 1940's Food Village is located behind the Tribune (the show seating stand), where a range of food and beverages are available to purchase using cash, credit or debit cards, our caterers include delicious chicken, high-quality sausages, fresh gourmet burgers, waffles, ice cream, sweets and much more! 

We also offer a bar and sell hot and cold drinks. Drinks purchased at the Food Village can be enjoyed at your seats before and during the performance.

The Tribune opens two hours before the start of each performance should you wish to take your seats early. As food is NOT permitted in the Tribune, it should be consumed before taking your seat. You are allowed to get in and out of the Tribune as many times as you wish before the performance starts.

Food and drinks will stop being served 15 minutes before the show. There is no interval during the show. 

Please note food and drinks are not allowed beyond Ticket and Security Check, except for baby food or food for medical conditions.

Under our security arrangements, bags are restricted on our site so please check the details before making your way to the Kynren site.

Only handbags and fully transparent plastic bags are allowed, provided their dimensions do not exceed 40cm x 30cm x 20cm. We are not able to allow any other bags of any nature (rucksacks, backpacks, cold boxes etc.).

There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available.

Kynren merchandise across the whole site may only be purchased by debit or credit card; we regret that cash payment for your souvenirs will not be accepted. 

For food and drink purchases, you can use cash or card in the 1940's Food Village. 

A selection of gifts, souvenirs and show-related merchandise, including Souvenir Books, Soundtrack CDs, ponchos and blankets will be available to purchase on site before and after the show.

Limited merchandise (Souvenir Books and Soundtrack CDs) will be available to buy over the phone after the show. Please call +44 (0)1388 436033 between the hours 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. Postage costs a minimum of £3.00 depending on how many items you purchase.

Car Parks

Our closest offsite car parks are just under 1 mile from the Kynren site. To help us plan shuttle bus numbers and to make your visitor experience the best it can be, park & ride vouchers need to be purchased in advance, they cannot be bought on arrival. Once onsite, if you feel that the walk back may be to strenuous for you, you may buy a shuttle bus ticket from our Georgian Shop for £5.00 per passenger. Please note that guests that have pre-booked their shuttle bus transfers from our website or over the phone will be given priority to board the buses. Therefore, your waiting time may be longer if you choose this option however, we aim to board all passengers within 50 minutes of the end of the show. 

Shuttle buses from all car parks run continuously to and from the drop off/pick up point on our site.

We kindly ask all our visitors to be at Ticket Check at least 45 minutes before the show starts. We would also advise that you reach your car park 60 minutes before the show start time.

The site always opens at least 3 hours before the show so you can enjoy our pre-show attractions.

Depending on demand there may be a wait for a bus, particularly at the end of the show when all visitors will be leaving at the same time. We do aim to board all bus passengers within 50 minutes of the end of the show.

None of the car parks have a height restrictions. 

The same parking options and prices are available to motorcycles and cars in all of our car parks.

We have parking on site for Blue Badge permit holders. You may book a space online when you purchase your show tickets. Please note that the Tribune seating area is a 450 metre walk from the Blue Badge Car Park. 

For our guests who are wheelchair users, we have a reserved area. Tickets for that area and for your parking will be available to book via our Box Office telephone line +44 (0)333 300 3028.

IMPORTANT: Cars parking in the Blue Badge car park will need to show our Parking Attendants their pre-booked parking voucher and a valid Blue Badge permit to gain entry to this car park.

If there is no availability in the Blue Badge Car Park and you prefer not to choose an alternative evening, we advise you purchase a Park and Ride ticket for Car Park H. Car Park H is a flat tarmacked car park and the shuttle bus pick up point is within the car park. The shuttle bus has space for one wheelchair and drops off at the Kynren site adjacent to the blue badge car park. 

Yes, we operate a shuttle only service that runs from Bishop Auckland Bus Station to Kynren. You must purchase this at the time you book your ticket.

The pick up/drop off point is at: Bishop Auckland Bus Station, Bishop Auckland DL14 7QA

Shuttle buses start 15 minutes after car park opens and have regular services.

You’ll need to select Car Park C for your motorhome. You won’t be able to park overnight here.

We recommend that guest with disabilities that require a taxi to drop them off or pick them up should pre-book a space in our Blue Badge Car Park, as for security reasons, the site does not have a taxi waiting area. In order to book a space, guests should be a Blue Badge holder or meet the qualifying criteria for a Personal Assistant ticket. Guests who do not meet this criteria are recommended to book a Ride Only shuttle bus ticket from and to Bishop Auckland Bus Station in the town centre. There is a small car park next to the Bus Station where your taxi may drop off and collect you after the show. Please note that the distance from Bishop Auckland Bus Station to the Kynren site is just under 1 mile. 

Guests who prefer to walk to site can also arrange a taxi drop off and collection at Car Park C. Please note the distance to site is just under 1 mile downhill on the way to Kynren and uphill on the way back. 

General Site Questions

No, however all food items can be purchased with credit/debit card or cash. Our merchandise is card payments only.

Our main visitor path is DDA compliant with a natural fine stone surface. They are easy to walk on however, customers with mobility issues or wheelchairs may need assistance from a member of their party or a Personal Assistant.

There is limited seating outside of the Tribune area. We request that guests give our elderly, disabled and those with mobility issues priority for seating. There is wooden seating around the site including at the Lakeside Walk, the 1940's Food Village and The Animal Croft.  You will be able to take your seat in the Tribune up to 2 hours before the show starts.

Yes, on show days the site opens at least 3 hours before the show time (check out our show times for details) and you will be able to purchase tickets from the onsite Box Office. Our shows often sell out days prior to the event, therefore, we would advise that you purchase tickets before you arrive onsite. Access to the site is by foot only for on-the-day ticket buyers (ie you will not be able to book car parking).

Our online booking system allows you to book tickets and car parking up to one hour before the show starts. You will either need to print these at home or show on your smart phone at Ticket Check. You can also collect at the Box Office if you can't do the aforementioned.

Our seating has four price bands.

  • VIP seats are padded with back rests and have more space between the seats for greater comfort. VIP seats are located in the very centre of the Tribune. 
  • Deluxe, Superior and Standard seating are all plastic, raked stadium style seating with a backrest. The price bands determine how close you are to the centre of the action. Wherever you sit, just like at the cinema, you will enjoy a great view of Kynren.

Our online ticket booking system will allow you to select your preferred seats across the entire seating area, to the exception of the dedicated wheelchair reserved area.

You may also book seats by calling our dedicated customer care team on +44 (0)333 300 3028 - please be aware there is an admin fee of £2.50 per ticket for this service. This fee will be waived for those who require a Personal Assistant ticket at no additional cost or wheelchair users.

The show lasts 90 minutes without an interval, starting at dusk and concluding in starlight. The timing of each performance varies as the season progresses and the days get shorter. Please check the specific start time of your chosen show at

Exchanges can be made up to 30 days prior to the performance but please be aware there is a £5.00 admin charge per ticket to make an exchange.

Kynren takes place on an evening in the open air, so we strongly recommend you wear suitable clothing - warm and waterproof outerwear and comfortable footwear. Even if it has been a warm day, it will get cold as the evening progresses. 

The most important thing for you to bring is your ticket, you can show your ticket on your smart phone.

On booking, you will be able to download your ticket for printing. If you are having problems printing your tickets you can call our customer care team on +44 (0)333 300 3028 who will be happy to help with any problems.

Alternatively they can be printed on show nights at our on site Box Office up to 1 hour before show starts. You can also show your ticket on your smart phone.

We ask our visitors to be seated 5 minutes ahead of the start of the show, however if circumstances get in the way, you can still attend however you may be asked to wait until a suitable break before taking your seat.

Pets are strictly not permitted on the Kynren site. This includes our car parks. 

Guide dogs and hearing dogs can be accommodated, however please be aware that the show contains loud noises and fireworks, which might cause distress to the animal. Please let us know before you book your tickets so we can arrange appropriate seating during the show, by emailing [email protected] or calling +44 (0)333 300 3028.

While the show involves vibrant costumes, we ask that, for security reasons, you resist the temptation to come in costume as you will not be admitted.

Due to the high number of families with children that attend the event there is one designated smoking area at venue. This is the only area where smoking is allowed on site.

Smoking or vaping is not allowed in any other outdoor space, queue-line, restaurant, shop or attraction. If you are not in the designated smoking area you will be asked to put out your cigarettes or stop vaping by our staff members.

Yes guest can purchase tickets in our Onsite Box Office open from 10am - 4pm Tuesday - Friday or during our open times on each Saturday before performance. Click here to see times.

We are aware some guests may be experiencing difficulties when booking tickets using the Apple Safari browser or an apple devices. This is an issue beyond our control and is a result of Safari making changes to its ‘Intelligent Tracking Prevention’ (ITP) with regards to how cookies are handled  While this issue is being resolved by our ticketing provider we recommend using a different web browser such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.  Alternatively, please contact our Ticket Hotline on 0333 300 3028 and they can assist you to book your tickets (fees apply).
