What to Wear

Our shows go on rain or shine, so come prepared!

  • Weather-Appropriate Attire: Check the forecast and dress accordingly. Performances are in the open air, so bring comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Evening shows can get chilly, even in summer, so layer up!
  • Rain Gear: Kynren has never been cancelled due to the weather, so please do come prepared. Umbrellas are allowed anywhere except in the tribune during the performance, to avoid obstructing the views of others. Ponchos are also available for purchase at any of our retail outlets.
  • Costumes: While children are welcome to wear costumes, we ask adults not to dress up for security reasons.

Etiquette

Please be considerate of your fellow visitors to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience.

During Performances:

  • Shows have no intervals, and food or bar outlets are closed during the performance.
  • If you need to leave your seat during the show, plan accordingly. The entire row needs to stand to let you out and back in. You will be asked to wait by a show attendant for a suitable moment in the show to return to your seat.

Filming & Photography

Kynren is a live-action outdoor spectacular powered by over 1,000 volunteers — and every ticket supports our registered charity.

To help preserve the magic of the show — and respect the efforts of our cast and crew — we ask that you do not film or take photos of the performance.

We understand many visitors want to capture a memory, and while we don’t encourage filming, please be discreet, turn your screen brightness down, and be considerate of those around you so you don’t disrupt their experience.

Looking for that perfect moment? You’ll find brilliant backdrops before the show.

  • Pose with Viking warriors in our immersive Viking Village.
  • Snap a photo beside our full-size locomotive, set in a recreated station inspired by nearby Stanhope.
  • Capture your arrival in front of the Kynren sign — and let your friends know where the magic happens!

We love seeing your memories of Kynren. Thank you for helping us protect the experience and support our mission.

Tickets

To make your entry as smooth as possible:

  • Have all tickets ready, whether printed or on your phone.
  • Parking and shuttle tickets should also be ready for stewards and boarding staff.
  • If you lose your show ticket, visit the Box Office near Ticket Check for a free reprint (ID required for the lead booker).

Dogs

Due to the vibrant nature of the performances, we cannot allow dogs on site, except for Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs. If you wish to bring a guide dog onto site, please contact our customer service team on 01388 436 030 or at access@kynren.com prior to booking so we can make suitable arrangements.
