When should I receive my tickets?
You will receive your tickets after purchase from our ticketing partner, Smeetz. Do look in your junk folder if you have not received them within an hour of purchase.
What should I do if I lose my tickets?
If you have lost your tickets, please contact our Visitor Services Team as soon as possible for assistance. They will help reissue your tickets or provide alternative solutions. Click here to contact us. On the day of your visit, speak to the admissions team at Visitor Services with proof of purchase, and our team will assist in reissuing your tickets.
Is there parking available?
Yes, ample parking is available, with options of either our onsite car park, or with a shuttle bus service to and from the offsite car parks. There is a fee for car parking and you must pre-book a space to ensure availability and a hassle-free experience. Learn more about parking here.
Do you offer a shuttle bus service?
Yes, we provide a convenient shuttle bus service to and from Green and Yellow Car Parks – the transfer is included as part of your car parking ticket.
We also offer a ride only shuttle bus service from Bishop Auckland Market Place which must be booked separately. Please check the shuttle bus schedule and pricing here.
Where can taxis drop off and pick up?
We have a designated area on site that is clearly signposted for taxi drop offs, as well as pick ups at the end of your visit. Please follow the instructions of our team, who will be able to direct you.
What time should I arrive?
For our night show, we recommend arriving one hour before the show begins to allow time for parking, security checks and exploring the Viking Settlement (included in the cost of your night show ticket).
For the day park, please follow the arrival guidance on your bespoke schedule, which was issued to you following your purchase. If you have not received this schedule, please contact our Visitor Services team.
Can visitors travel by public transport?
Yes. Bishop Auckland railway station is approximately 15 minutes walk from the site and local bus services operate to the town centre.
What is Kynren – An Epic Tale of England Night Show
Kynren – An Epic Tale of England is the UK’s award-winning live action night show, taking audiences on a spectacular 90-minute journey through 2,000 years of history, myth and legend. Performed on a breathtaking 7.5-acre outdoor stage with an 8,000-seat tribune, the show features a cast and crew of 1,000 volunteers, stunning horsemanship, pyrotechnics, special effects and a spectacular firework finale.
From the Romans, Vikings and Queen Boudicca to knights, kings and queens, Shakespeare, the Industrial Revolution and the World Wars, Kynren brings defining moments from England’s past to life in an unforgettable theatrical experience unlike any other in the UK.
When does the Night Show take place?
Kynren – An Epic Tale of England is performed on Saturday evenings, plus Friday 21 August and Friday 4 September 2026.

How long does it take to leave the show?
Exiting the venue is managed efficiently by our experienced team, ensuring that cars and pedestrians leave safely and quickly. While the exact time may vary depending on attendance and your parking location, most guests are on their way within 30–45 minutes after the show ends. Our staff are on hand to guide cars and assist pedestrians to ensure a smooth departure.

Kynren – The Storied Lands is the UK’s first live-action show park, where your day is built around five spectacular live-action shows and immersive experiences, there’s also a neolithic play area, gift shops and food outlets.
How does my Kynren – The Storied Lands Day Park visit work?
Unlike a traditional theme park, your day follows a schedule of live performances. Your ticket includes all five spectacular live-action shows, which take place at scheduled times throughout the day. Between performances, you’ll have time to explore the adventure play area, shops and cafés. A daily show timetable is provided when you book a ticket to help you plan your visit and ensure you experience every show.
What is included in a Day Park ticket?
Your ticket includes entry to all five live-action shows, neolithic themed play area, shops and food outlets.
Can I visit the Day Park and Night Show on the same day?
Yes. On Night Show performance days, you can book a Combined Ticket, allowing you to enjoy Kynren – The Storied Lands during the day before taking your seat for Kynren – An Epic Tale of England in the evening.
Can I buy a Day Park-only ticket on a Night Show day?
No. Day Park-only tickets are not available on Night Show performance days. If you wish to visit on these dates, you’ll need to book either a Combined Ticket or a Night Show ticket.
When is the Day Park open?
The Day Park is open Tuesday to Sunday from 18 July to 12 September 2026 (closed Mondays).
What time should I arrive?
Day Park – Your ticket states your selected arrival time which is one hour before the first show starts.
What time does it open?
When you book your ticket you select an arrival time and this then sets your show times for the day.

On night show dates, arrival times vary throughout the season as the start time of Kynren – An Epic Tale of England changes to coincide with sunset. Visitors booking a combined day and night ticket will begin their Kynren – The Storied Lands experience from midday, allowing plenty of time to enjoy all five live-action shows before the night show begins.
How long should visitors allow for Kynren – The Storied Lands?
A full day is recommended to enjoy all five live-action shows, immersive experiences and themed worlds. Visitors can also enjoy a range of food and drink options throughout the day, while younger adventurers can let off steam in the Neolithic-themed outdoor play area.
The day is carefully scheduled to help visitors experience everything on offer, with show times planned so that guests can enjoy each of the major live-action productions without missing out.
What happens if it rains?
Kynren performances proceed in all weather. We recommend dressing appropriately, as even warm days can turn cool after sunset. Bringing a waterproof jacket or poncho is advised. If you don’t have one, ponchos and blankets are available for purchase on-site.
What should I wear to Kynren?
As Kynren is an outdoor attraction, we recommend dressing for the weather. Layered clothing is ideal to adapt to changing temperatures, and comfortable footwear is advised for walking to and from the venue.
On sunny days remember to bring sunscreen, a hat and plenty of water, as there is limited shade around some performance areas.
Is the park accessible?

How far is the entrance to the tribune and main stage area?
There is a 450 metre walk from entrance to the Tribune. All guests do need to make this journey – there are no vehicle transfers to seating area.
Are dogs permitted?
Dogs are not permitted, with the exception of registered assistance and guide dogs which must be pre-booked.
Can assistance dogs access all areas?
Assistance dogs are welcome throughout most of the site but are not permitted within The Lost Feather arena due to the nature of the free-flying bird experience.
Can I hire a wheelchair?
For our day park, we have a limited number of access aids (wheelchairs and mobility scooters) that can be hired by contacting our Visitor Services team. These must be booked in advance due to low capacity and a deposit paid that will be refunded upon the safe return of the access aid.
Please note that a £25 fee is applicable to hire a mobility scooter, in addition to the refundable deposit. For more information, please view our accessibility information.
Is Kynren a cashless site?
Yes, Kynren is a cashless site. All payments for food, drinks, and merchandise must be made using a debit or credit card or via contactless payment methods. Please ensure you bring a suitable payment method with you
Is there food and drink available?
Yes. A range of cafes, kiosks and food outlets are available throughout the park, offering refreshments, snacks and meals.
Are there water refill stations?
Yes, water refill stations are available on-site. We encourage visitors to bring reusable water bottles to help reduce waste and stay hydrated throughout their visit. Empty drink containers are allowed, but aluminium bottles or flasks are prohibited.
Can I bring my own food for medical or baby needs?
Yes, guests are allowed to bring baby food or food required for medical reasons. Please notify our team in advance or speak to security upon arrival to make arrangements.
What happens if I have dietary needs?

Can I bring a picnic?
Visitors to Kynren – The Storied Lands are welcome to bring a picnic should they choose, however you may not be able to bring food into show seating areas. A range of food and drink options are also available on-site here.

To ensure a smooth entry process, we are unable to permit large bags or luggage. Small bags and essentials are allowed, but all items will be subject to security checks.
We have designated lockers located near the entrance to the park where larger items (provided they do not exceed the measurements: 56 x 40 x 47cm) can be stored during your visit for a small fee.

What is The Lost Feather?
The Lost Feather is a breathtaking live bird show featuring more than 250 birds soaring through the skies above a purpose-built arena. Through stunning free-flight displays and spectacular storytelling, the show explores humanity’s relationship with birds and delivers a powerful message about the importance of conservation for future generations.
You will see a variety of birds free fly – including native, exotic and rare species. Look out for vultures, African grey crowned cranes, macaws, and magical owls.
The Lost Feather takes place in a purpose-built arena seating 2500. Its unique roof structure has been inspired by an eagle’s nest.
What is Land of the Vikings?
Land of the Vikings transports visitors into a bustling Viking world where history comes vividly to life. Feel the heat and watch sparks fly from the blacksmith’s forge, see weavers and woodcarvers practising traditional crafts and discover what everyday life was really like over a thousand years ago. Watch warriors prepare for battle, hear thunderous battle cries and experience dramatic shield wall demonstrations before taking your seat for an action-packed live show where drums echo, fires rage and warriors clash in an epic tale inspired by Norse history and legend.
What is The Trusty Steed?
The Trusty Steed is a spectacular equestrian adventure set in medieval England. Follow the journey of a fearless young female warrior and her remarkable bond with a wild horse as they navigate a world of knights, tournaments and adventure. Featuring exceptional horsemanship, daring stunts, thrilling tournament action and a heartwarming story of courage, friendship and resilience, The Trusty Steed celebrates the enduring partnership between humans and horses.
This show takes place on the 7.5 acre stage with Bishop Auckland Palace in the background.
What is Legend of the Wear?
Legend of the Wear brings one of the North East’s most famous myths to life in a spectacular live-action production inspired by the legend of the Lambton Worm. Performed on a purpose-built stage with seating for 2,500 guests, the show unfolds against the backdrop of a local village complete with thatched cottages and a mill, with a lake in the foreground.
Combining dramatic storytelling, action, special effects and an original soundtrack, Legend of the Wear delivers an unforgettable theatrical experience. The music for the show was recorded by the world-renowned BBC Concert Orchestra, with acclaimed Northumbrian musician Kathryn Tickell featuring on the Northumbrian small pipes, bringing an authentic regional sound to this epic tale of myth and legend.
What are the Victorian Imaginariums?
The Victorian Imaginariums is an immersive hedge maze adventure where visitors encounter larger-than-life Victorian characters ready to guide them on their journey. Around every corner, unexpected encounters, theatrical moments and imaginative discoveries bring this curious Victorian world to life.
Can I Take Photographs During My Visit?
We encourage visitors to capture memories of their day and there are plenty of opportunities to take photographs throughout Kynren – The Storied Lands, including in the Viking Settlement, Victorian Imaginariums and around the wider park.
During the live-action shows and Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, photography and filming are not permitted. This helps ensure everyone can enjoy the performances without distractions and experience every moment exactly as it was intended.
It also provides a rare opportunity to step away from screens, be fully present and become immersed in the action, storytelling and spectacle unfolding around you.
At the night show, Photography is permitted during the spectacular finale, giving visitors the opportunity to capture the excitement and share memories of an unforgettable evening.
