Bishop Gateway is a major infrastructure project designed to improve access to Bishop Auckland and support the town’s continued regeneration.
It will provide a new road connection linking the A688 to key destinations including Kynren – The Storied Lands, helping to ease congestion and improve journeys for both residents and visitors.
The project also includes new parking, pedestrian routes and improved access across the River Wear — ensuring the town is better connected and able to welcome increased visitor numbers in the years ahead.
