What is The Lost Feather?
The Lost Feather is a breathtaking live bird show featuring more than 250 birds soaring through the skies above a purpose-built arena. Through stunning free-flight displays and spectacular storytelling, the show explores humanity’s relationship with birds and delivers a powerful message about the importance of conservation for future generations.
You will see a variety of birds free fly – including native, exotic and rare species. Look out for vultures, African grey crowned cranes, macaws, and magical owls.
The Lost Feather takes place in a purpose-built arena seating 2500. Its unique roof structure has been inspired by an eagle’s nest.
What is Land of the Vikings?
Land of the Vikings transports visitors into a bustling Viking world where history comes vividly to life. Feel the heat and watch sparks fly from the blacksmith’s forge, see weavers and woodcarvers practising traditional crafts and discover what everyday life was really like over a thousand years ago. Watch warriors prepare for battle, hear thunderous battle cries and experience dramatic shield wall demonstrations before taking your seat for an action-packed live show where drums echo, fires rage and warriors clash in an epic tale inspired by Norse history and legend.
What is The Trusty Steed?
The Trusty Steed is a spectacular equestrian adventure set in medieval England. Follow the journey of a fearless young female warrior and her remarkable bond with a wild horse as they navigate a world of knights, tournaments and adventure. Featuring exceptional horsemanship, daring stunts, thrilling tournament action and a heartwarming story of courage, friendship and resilience, The Trusty Steed celebrates the enduring partnership between humans and horses.
This show takes place on the 7.5 acre stage with Bishop Auckland Palace in the background.
What is Legend of the Wear?
Legend of the Wear brings one of the North East’s most famous myths to life in a spectacular live-action production inspired by the legend of the Lambton Worm. Performed on a purpose-built stage with seating for 2,500 guests, the show unfolds against the backdrop of a local village complete with thatched cottages and a mill, with a lake in the foreground.
Combining dramatic storytelling, action, special effects and an original soundtrack, Legend of the Wear delivers an unforgettable theatrical experience. The music for the show was recorded by the world-renowned BBC Concert Orchestra, with acclaimed Northumbrian musician Kathryn Tickell featuring on the Northumbrian small pipes, bringing an authentic regional sound to this epic tale of myth and legend.
