The North East’s biggest pyromusical will light up Bishop Auckland with 25 minutes of fireworks choreographed to music on Saturday, 31st October
The night sky above Bishop Auckland will become a stage of its own this Halloween when Kynren’s spectacular Pyromusical returns with fireworks, music and a few suitably spooky surprises.
The annual event will see thousands of fireworks choreographed to an epic soundtrack during a 25-minute display across Kynren’s vast outdoor stage.
And with this year’s event falling directly on Halloween, organisers are promising some subtle seasonal touches after darkness falls.
Fire pits will provide an atmospheric glow around the site, alongside warming autumn food and drink, while a few Halloween surprises are being kept under wraps until the night itself.
The event has become one of Kynren’s biggest dates outside its regular summer season, attracting around 8,000 people and selling out every year.
A Kynren spokesperson said: “There is something quite extraordinary about seeing fireworks on this scale choreographed precisely to music.
“You’re not simply watching a traditional fireworks display. The soundtrack and fireworks are designed to work together, so the music becomes as much a part of the experience as what is happening in the sky.
“This year gives us the added bonus of the event actually taking place on Halloween, so we couldn’t resist introducing a few seasonal touches.
“We’re not going to give everything away, but there will be fire pits glowing as darkness falls, plenty of warming food and drink and a few surprises before the fireworks begin.”
Gates open at 4.30pm, giving visitors time to enjoy the atmosphere before taking their seats. Food and drink available on site will include hot dogs, soup and chips alongside mulled wine and hot chocolate, with fire pits providing places to gather as darkness falls.
The spokesperson added: “It has become one of those events that people come back to year after year and we regularly sell every seat.
“The setting makes a huge difference. Sitting in the Tribune, looking across the Kynren stage and then seeing the entire night sky come alive in time with the music is difficult to replicate anywhere else.
“Having so many people experiencing that finale together creates a pretty special atmosphere.”
Standard seating costs £14 for adults and £11 for under 18s, with VIP seating priced at £18 for adults and £15 for under 18s. Children aged three and under can attend free when seated on an adult’s knee.
Kynren’s Pyromusical takes place at Bishop Auckland on Saturday 31 October 2026. Gates open at 4.30pm and the 25-minute show begins at 7pm.
