With the Kynren team putting the finishing touches to the new pumpkin trail, preparations are well underway for this year’s Pyromusical – A Halloween Weekend Spectacular, which promises to bring a spellbinding seasonal twist to one of the North East’s best-loved autumn events.
Taking place on Saturday, 1st November, the 25-minute fireworks and music extravaganza will see the skies above Bishop Auckland transformed into a blaze of light and colour, choreographed to a hauntingly fun soundtrack.
Now in its seventh year, Pyromusical has grown into one of the region’s most anticipated celebrations combining perfectly timed pyrotechnics, dramatic staging and playful details that make it a standout night in the seasonal calendar.

The new pumpkin-lit walkway will guide visitors to their seats, adding an extra hint of Halloween atmosphere before the display begins.
Families are encouraged to come early, soak up the build-up and enjoy the firepits, warming seasonal food and drinks, and the sense of community that makes Pyromusical such a highlight.
Organisers say this year’s event will be “fun, family-friendly and full of seasonal joy”, capturing the spirit of autumn with music, colour and a little Halloween sparkle against the spectacular backdrop of Auckland Palace.
Tickets are already on sale, with adult tickets starting from £13 and under-18s from £10.
A shuttle bus service from Bishop Auckland marketplace makes getting there simple. Children aged three and under can attend for free when seated on an adult’s knee.
