KYNREN – DRONE & AERIAL FILMING POLICY
Kynren – An Epic Tale of England and The Storied Lands are spectacular outdoor live shows performed on private land, featuring large-scale stunts, live animals, volunteers, staff, special effects and a ticketed audience experience.
While we understand the interest in aerial content creation, the safety of our cast, audience and animals – along with the protection of our production and private land – must take priority.
We kindly ask all drone operators and content creators to respect the following policy.
Drone Flights Are Not Permitted Without Prior Approval
To ensure the safety and integrity of Kynren, drone flights over, from or within view of the site are not permitted without express written permission from 11Arches.
This includes (but is not limited to):
- The show arena and stage infrastructure
- Car parks, surrounding fields, and access roads
- Audience viewing areas
- Rehearsals, live performances, and backstage spaces
Why These Restrictions Are in Place
Safety
Flying over large audiences, live animals, stunt performers, and pyrotechnics presents a serious risk – even when carried out by experienced pilots.
Animal Welfare
While our animal cast are accustomed to rehearsed effects such as fireworks, this does not mean they are unaffected by drones. Drones are fast-moving, unpredictable and produce unfamiliar, high-pitched sounds. A sudden appearance of a drone — especially from above or behind — can startle even the calmest animal.
Kynren includes a wide range of animals on stage, including birds, horses, cows, sheep, geese, goats and donkeys, all of which are sensitive to unexpected disturbances. During performances, there are often several animals on stage at once, involved in choreographed sequences in close proximity to riders, cast members, and special effects. The introduction of an uncontrolled or unfamiliar stimulus like a drone presents an unacceptable risk to animal welfare and overall show safety.
We ask all drone operators to understand that this is a non-negotiable safety concern.
Audience Experience
Kynren is a fully immersive, ticketed production. The presence of drones detracts from the atmosphere our guests pay to enjoy.
Copyright Protection
Kynren is a copyrighted performance. Recording or publishing footage of the show without permission constitutes copyright infringement.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Our backstage and operational areas are private. Filming or distributing content from these areas is not permitted.
Filming and Drone Application Process
If you would like to request permission to film at Kynren (including with drones), please email pr@kynren.com with:
- Your name and organisation (if relevant)
- Purpose and context of filming
- Proposed dates and locations
- Equipment list, including drone model and Operator ID
- Proof of public liability insurance
- Intended usage and distribution of footage
Please note: we do not permit any filming or photography for resale, commercial distribution, or monetised use unless as part of a formal agreement.
Applications are reviewed by our senior management team, and due to the nature of the site, most drone-related requests will not be approved.
Reporting Unauthorised Drone Use
Unauthorised drone use may be reported to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) or local police, particularly if:
- The drone is flown over crowds (e.g. during a performance)
- There is no visible Operator ID or appropriate licensing
- The flight breaches CAA regulations (e.g. no visual line of sight)
- Footage infringes copyright or invades privacy
We may also issue takedown notices and pursue legal action if unauthorised content is published.
In Summary
We welcome creative interest in Kynren but ask all drone operators and photographers to work with us in maintaining a safe and respectful environment. If you wish to film, please contact us in advance.
