Looking for a school trip that’s a little different?

Kynren – The Storied Lands is the UK’s first live-action show park, where history, myth and legend are brought to life through spectacular live shows, immersive settings and storytelling.

From Vikings and medieval knights to Victorian characters, local legends and spectacular free-flying birds, pupils don’t just learn about stories from the past – they see them unfold around them.

And with our special term-time school rates available, a visit offers a memorable and great-value day out for school groups.

School visit dates

We are now taking school bookings and reservations for both 2026 and 2027.

September 2026

  • School visits are available: £8 per child. Open for school trips : Tuesday–Friday, 1–11 September 2026

July 2027

  • School visits will be available: Wednesday–Friday from 7 July 2027 onwards
  • Term-time school rate: £10 per child. One teacher FREE for every 10 paying children

What will pupils experience?

A school visit to Kynren – The Storied Lands is designed as a full day of live entertainment, storytelling and exploration.

There’s plenty to fit in, with five different live productions to experience during your day.

  • The Lost Feather – Enter a spectacular purpose-built arena for a story told through music, live action and incredible free-flying birds. With birds soaring overhead and a story inspired by our relationship with the natural world, The Lost Feather offers plenty to inspire conversations around wildlife and conservation.

  • Land of the Vikings – Step into the world of the Vikings. Explore the Viking settlement before watching the action unfold in a live production filled with characters, storytelling and an unforgettable battle.

  • The Trusty Steed – Knights, horses and medieval adventure take centre stage in The Trusty Steed, bringing the age of tournaments and jousting vividly to life.

  • Legend of the Wear – Inspired by one of the North East’s best-known legends, Legend of the Wear brings local myth and storytelling to life in a spectacular lakeside production.

A packed day - without the worksheets

Kynren is a little different from a traditional museum or educational attraction.

We don’t build the day around classroom-style talks, workshops or activity packs. Instead, pupils experience history, stories and characters through live performance and the environments around them.

With five shows to experience, it makes for a pretty packed – and memorable – school day.
